M&G DuraVent has been working for the last year on implementing a new SAP ERP system. We have made a significant investment in the changeover and are ready to throw the switch. This new system will help us to improve our production capabilities, maintain better control of our inventories, improve customer communications through better documentation and communicate faster with our parent and sister companies in Europe and Canada. Our scheduled implementation date is Monday July 1st, 2013.

There are some updates that we have to do just prior to July1 as well as after July 1st that will require us to have a small break from production and shipping. Our plan encompasses the 4th of July holiday to make it easier on our customers as well as our work force. Our manufacturing plants in Vacaville, CA. and Albany, NY will be closed Thursday June 27th and Friday June 28th for physical inventory. There will be no production or shipping during physical inventory. The following Monday July 1st we will go live with SAP but there will be no production and shipping this week as we prepare and ascertain all systems are ready. Production and shipping will start up again on Monday July 8th. Our offices and customer service will be open during the physical inventory and July 1st through 3rd so we will still be able to receive, input and follow up on orders. Our offices will be closed on July 4th and 5th for the Independence Day holiday.

Manufacturing is working diligently to build inventory prior to the shut down in order to cover the down time. Every effort will be made to ship early or as soon after the shutdown as possible to maintain our lead times.

If you have need for product in July, we would recommend that you place your order in early June to make sure we have the product made and ready to ship when you need it.

The SAP implementation and plant shut down will not effect our sister company Security Chimney. They will be open for business as usual.

We are looking forward to this new technology taking us from the 1980’s into the 2020’s and beyond. We truly understand that problems could occur during this time and we feel we have done as much as humanly possible to anticipate and deal with them before going live. We also know that stuff happens. When stuff does happen we will work to correct it as soon as possible and to communicate with you on any effects it may have on your orders and our service. We appreciate your understanding and if you have any questions, all of us here at M&G DuraVent are here to help.
